Chris Duncombe, AM, MD, Ph.D. - Senior Medical Writer

Dr. Chris Duncombe is a renowned global health researcher and associate professor in the department of global health at the University of Washington with 20 years of clinical trial experience. He has 42 peer-reviewed publications and has written normative guidance for the World Health Organization on the rapidly evolving concept of differentiated care within a public health approach. He has been an investigator on 41 NIH and pharma-sponsored clinical trials and was the writer of the 2010 WHO guidelines for the use of antiretroviral therapy in a public health. Dr. Duncombe joins the Pro-ficiency team as senior medical writer.

Laura Nufire, MSW, LCSW - Senior Project Manager

Ms. Nufire has worked in the clinical trials/pharmaceutical arena for more than 16 years. She spent 11 1/2 years in progressively responsible positions at Quintiles (now IQVIA), running over 16 Phase I-IV clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas, as well as working on specialized teams to improve processes and technology. Additionally, she has direct clinical experience, having worked as a psychotherapist in a variety of settings (inpatient, outpatient, community mental health and in a university counseling program). She is known as an "out-of-the-box" thinker who has been very invested and involved in the role of technology in clinical trials. Ms. Nufire will be assuming the role of senior project manager at Pro-ficiency.

Obianuju Helen Okoye, MD, MBA, MS-EPI - Senior Staff Medical Writer

Dr. Obianuju Helen Okoye is an American public health physician/health care executive/researcher/entrepreneur with vast experience in clinical research, mental health, clinical quality, clinical medicine and public health. She has been featured on NBC News, Yahoo News and The Huffington Post, among others, and has presented at several American and international medical conferences. Her background includes being an NIH Clinical and Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and she has a plethora of clinical research experience. She has been involved in clinical research and consulting projects across the USA, on the African continent, as well as Australia. Dr. Okoye adds strong writing skills, research experience, technical assistance and capacity-building experience to the team. Dr. Okoye deepens Pro-ficiency’s bench of senior medical writers.
